PARIS Desktop is a stand-alone document composition tool. Ideal for companies or departments wishing to design and print low volume personalised documents for marketing campaigns, surveys and many other uses.

Improve the effectiveness of communicating with your customers, suppliers, partners and prospects by producing quality personalised and relevant documents. The PARIS Desktop system is very easy to use and will enable you to merge your existing data with electronic forms.
Examples of typical documents are letters, newsletters, brochures, coupons, sales flyers, special offers, invitations, labels, name cards and so on. One thing all these types of document have in common is that they comprise both information that has been extracted from a database, and fixed information. This is often referred to as Mail Merge or Variable Data Publishing (VDP).
PARIS Desktop is a system that merges the two types of information together to create the complete document – whatever that document might be. PARIS Desktop is significantly different to the standard Mail Merge provided as part of MS Word. PARIS Desktop is a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) design system, so any variable information can be seen, exactly where it is going to be printed, while the document is being designed. Furthermore, the designer can scroll through the database input file and preview every individual page that will be printed later on.
PARIS Desktop may be used for simple documents, but it is also a system that has a rich set of advanced features for the more demanding user. Imagine that a customer database has two types of customer and that each type is to be sent a different offer – this could be a letter with a coupon at the bottom. Using PARIS Desktop, the incoming data can be tested, and the correct offer letter created automatically.


Quick and easy to use

Anyone who can use a Windows application such as Microsoft Office will be able to use PARIS Desktop.

Incorporate fixed and dynamic information or graphics throughout

All information, either fixed or dynamic, that is to be included in the final design is visible on the screen, exactly where it is going to be printed. Multiple page document previews can be scrolled through on screen.

Uses standard CSV type files or Text files for data input

Dynamic information can be inserted from any standard CSV type file such as Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Access. Text files, normally created for a Dot matrix printer, are also supported.

Full set of barcodes included

PARIS Desktop comes complete with a full set of barcodes and no technical knowledge of barcodes is required to use this feature. Any database field can have a barcode applied and printed in any size and at any position on the page.

PARIS Desktop – simple, effective and fun

PARIS Desktop uses the Windows printing system, so can print to any Windows printer that is set up as a printer on the PC that is running the PARIS Desktop software. The Launch Pad is used to submit a print job. All the user needs to know is the name of the input file (the database extract file, normally a CSV file or Text file) and the name of the design layout that is to be used.
